“On the Way to the Peak of Normal” is a radio show was begun by Craig Kelly on WAIF 88.3 FM, Cincinnati in the 1980′s, after he took over from the show “Another Music In A Different Kitchen”, both being named after albums by Holger Czukay and the Buzzcocks, respectively. After Craig had been at the helm for awhile Carrie Nation joined up as one of the primary hosts the show, among some others. In 2004 I (Justin Patrick) got involved as one of the rotating hosts of the show, along with Android and others. At the end of 2009 Craig handed the reins over to me. Since Craig and Android have both retired from the show, I have been joined by Brian “Thrifstore Leather” Riley as my cohort, cohost, and compadre. If you are in Cincinnati you can tune in on your radio or stereo every Thursday night from Ten PM to Midnight Eastern Standard Tribe. It is also available in a live stream here. Some episodes of the show are also available as a podcast. Links to individual shows will be found below. On the main page of this website is a button to subscribe to the podcast feed, or if using iTunes, you can go into the podcast directory and search for “Sothis Medias” or “On the Way to the Peak of Normal”. Not every episode that is broadcast is put up as a podcast. I am averaging about one a month.

Set your receivers to “On the Way to the Peak of Normal” for another high voltage dose of Esoteric Radio Activity, as your hosts Justin Patrick and Thrifstore Leather storm the studio, broadcasting Sonic Emissions right into your speakers! For music so ahead of its time it is standing behind you right now, step into the Mystical Void and listen the sound Intermodulated Ether! Make “On the Way to the Peak of Normal” your go-to source for Evolutionary Transmissions.

If you think your music is up to snuff for the show please send it to us. We are especially looking for occult/ pagan/magick/dream related material for our series of Silver Star Radio episodes which air around the Vernal Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumnal Equinox and Winter Solstice, all of which are podcast as well. The Silver Star Radio series is done in conjunction with Silver Star: A Journal of New Magick hosted by Horus-Maat Lodge.

The tribute to Peter Christopherson was outstanding. I didn’t know who hhe was until you introduced me to his music. Coil, whoa. The Dreamer is Still Sleeping, second. And my favorite is The Snow.
Thank you. You made my December. Any chance of an encore, part 2 or Coil Unlimited? Brilliant show. Brilliant!

    Melanie,
There will definitely be a repeat and I play Coil on a regular basis in with the rest of the mix. I hope to get the podcast version of this episode up soon. Since I had to cut off “The Dreamer is Still Asleep”, I’ll edit the entirety of that song in. Thanks for tuning in. -Justin

hey justin your program on 88.3 is great. anychance you may help me remember two songs i caught on the program last thursday the 9th of june. it was around 1130 and you mentioned the first one to be a mix of song by moon. i thought you said zomb!phone. the second that followed blew my mind as well and it had many instruments, including accordian and singing. much appreciated, best sounds ive yet to hear on air
    peace

  5. jmoore says:

One track must have been R. Crumb and his Cheap Suit Serenaders, the other one, well I don’t remember anything with “Zomb!Phone” but I’m sure glad you tuned in and listened. Thank you Owen!
